Welcome to the archives. These articles represent many different seasons of my career. You’ll find posts written during my doctoral studies, years of marketing consulting, entrepreneurial experiments, and the occasional reflection on whatever happened to be capturing my attention at the time.

Blogging looked very different when many of these posts were published. Rather than removing them or fixing broken links from now defunct themes, I’ve chosen to preserve them as a snapshot of where I was, what I was learning, and how my thinking has evolved over the years.

Some ideas have stood the test of time. Others reflect the questions I was wrestling with at that particular moment. Either way, they tell part of the story.

Psychological Capital

I ran across an article published in the Academy of Management Journal.  The primary author is Fred Luthans who hails from The University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  I stumbled across the article when I was doing some research for class. It has been a game-changer for me.

I looked into his body of work to find that he has written numerous articles on the notion of building psychological capital.  He claims, and has research to back it up, that things like hope, self-efficacy (confidence), optimism and resilience can be built.  I find this quite intriguing because this is directly inline with my research, yet, until now, I had no idea this guy even existed.
